Lionel Messi

Argentine footballer and eight-time Ballon d'Or winner, broadly regarded as one of the two greatest players in football history. Messi spent the formative two decades of his career at FC Barcelona, where he broke virtually every scoring record in club football. His crowning moment came at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, where he finally led Argentina to international glory -- a victory that for many settled the GOAT debate permanently. Now playing for Inter Miami in MLS, his influence on the sport extends well beyond statistics.
