Elon Musk

South African-born entrepreneur and the wealthiest person in modern recorded history. Musk co-founded PayPal, then built SpaceX to make space travel commercially viable and Tesla to accelerate the electric vehicle transition. His acquisition of Twitter -- rebranded X -- was one of the most turbulent and debated corporate takeovers of the decade. His proximity to political power, particularly in the United States, has made him one of the most polarizing figures of the era. Admirers credit him with dragging the future forward; critics question the gap between his stated ideals and his actual conduct.
